If the Revels moves, inspires or excites you, then the very FIRST thing to do is to go out and tell your family, tell your friends, and tell people you've never met who may be looking for joy and community without even realizing it. To make it easy, we've get some starters all ready to go for you to use. Tell someone!

Once you've done that, be sure to sign up for our mailing list and then explore the ways you can contribute to the community and the production by clicking the panels below:

How can you help?

The Revels are at work year round spreading joy and celebration. Bringing more people into the community is at the core of what we do. We hope that your experience with the Revels has inspired you, and if you feel strongly that you would consider offering your assistance in any ways you are able to.

There are no small jobs to be done. Some of the ongoing tasks Revels needs people for include:

  • Keeping information up-to-date
  • Outreach and finding new opportunities and partnerships for the Revels
  • Organizing and tracking props and other materials
  • Answering phones and emails and processing donations and tickets in the Revels Office

Become a friend of Revels by donating today!

The Christmas Revels ticket and merchandise sales cover only 60% of the costs required to present this unique experience. Your tax-deductible contribution helps fund the joyous pagentry of Revels - the theater, music, dance and featured performers who bring each show to life.

Becoming a donor benefits you as well as us. All our donors who contribute $75 or more are eligible to purchase advance tickets to The Christmas Revels prior to October 15th when tickets go on sale to the general public. There are benefits for various levels.

Donations are accepted in any of the following ways:

  • Matching Gifts - Check with your employer, as many companies will match donations made to Revels by their employees. Click here for information on how to work with your company to provide matching gifts.
  • Gifts of Cash - Donate online or send your check to California Revels, 337 17th Street, Ste 209, Oakland, CA 94612.
  • Pledges - Consider a pledge that may be paid over a three-year period. Your dedication and sustained participation in the Revels' programs allows us to better budget for future years and provides stability for our operations.
  • Securities - Transfer gifts of stock to Revels so you are able to aviod capital gains taxes on the amount of appreciation and receive a tax deduction for the stock's full market value.
  • Contribution of Goods - Donate tangible property to the Revels. In many cases this results in an immediate tax deduction for the donor. The following are examples of non-monetary gifts that Revels would appreciate receiving:
    • Office equipment and computer software
    • Props and costumes
    • Food and wine donations for Revels events
    • Storage space for costumes, props and archived office files.
  • The Elizabeth Lloyd Mayer Memorial Endowment Fund - The Fund exists to give California Revels a bedrock source of financial stability in times of crisis or economic recession. Interest income from the Fund may be used to initiate new projects or to support ongoing artistic endeavors.

  • An unpublished “sampler” CD from past Christmas Revels productions.
  • A 2009 show ornament.

Angel ($500+)

All of the above, plus:

  • Two free Center Box Seats to any one performance of The 2009 Christmas Revels.

Producer ($1000+)

All of the above, plus:

  • 2 more (4 total) complimentary center box seat tickets to The 2009 Christmas Revels.
  • An invitation to our exclusive backstage meeting and tour with the artistic staff on December 6th.

Master/Mistress of the House ($2,500+)

All of the above, plus:

  • Free parking in the Scottish Rite Parking Lot for one performance.
  • 2 more complimentary tickets - center box seats - to The 2009 Christmas Revels.
