Mayday MorrisSep 07, 2009
Every Mayday, California Revels celebrates at the Pelican Inn near Muir Beach in Marin County. Among the featured events is Morris Dancing, with the Deer Creek Morris Men often joined by Sebastopol's Apple Tree Morris, a "mixed side". In this footage, shot in 2008, you will also see some very young Morris dancers and the annual Maypole, as well as a glimpse of the fierce and terrible Padstow 'Obby 'Oss.
Swords of GridlockApr 20, 2009
This is an example of one of the many different types of sword dances seen in the California Revels over the years. This type of sword dance is known as "Rapper". The performers are Swords of Gridlock and they danced in both our winter and summer solstice performances in 2007.
